I appreciate the focus on comfort, inclusion, and sensory-friendly designs. The FLOW binder in particular feels thoughtfully made and clearly aims to meet an important need in the community.
However, I was quite concerned to see the description and promotional images claiming that this model is “free from time limits” and can be worn for “10–12 hours per day.” Considering that, current health and community guidelines, including those from medical and trans health organisations, strongly recommend limiting binder wear to around 8 hours per day, with breaks and rest days, to prevent long-term issues such as back pain, breathing restriction, and skin or rib damage.
Advertising a binder as having no time limit can easily be misunderstood as “safe to wear all day,” which may put users, especially younger ones, at risk. I really hope WIVOV will consider clarifying this claim and aligning its guidance with established safety recommendations. It would show real care for the wellbeing of our community.
